Dr. Alfredo Trejo, born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Edinburg High School. Dr. Trejo earned a B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, and a minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. While completing his optometric studies, he was an active member in many student organizations as well as a teaching assistant for younger students. Awards received include the FERV Thompson, Elizondo, and O.W. Coburn scholarships.
Dr. Trejo completed two externships during his final year of optometry school. The first at Eye Doctor’s Office & Eye Gallery, and the second at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic, both of which are located in Dallas, Texas. These externships provided training for managing complex ocular disease as well as fitting specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses and orthokeratology.
Upon graduation, Dr. Trejo moved to Austin to join the Innovative Eyecare team. He is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Central Texas Optometric Society. When he isn’t taking care of Austin eyes, he loves attending music festivals, camping at national parks, and watching football.
